Long sandy beaches...

Alistro - Cap du Sud: 34km - 6h40min La costa è diventata più monotona ed antropizzata: uno dei pochi diversivi della giornata è quello di osservare i rippol del fondale sabbioso, quando l'acqua non si copre di un superficiale velo multicolore. Come nei due giorni passati, sbarchiamo dopo aver percorso una trentina di chilometri; come nelle sere precedenti, scegliamo per il campo notturno una bella spiaggia protetta da una folta pineta; come sempre, vinciamo i morsi della fame con un aperitivo di tartine, olive ed arachidi allestito sul tappo ovale del gavone di poppa del mio kayak. Ceniamo sotto la costellazione di Pegaso quando tramonta uno spicchio di luna. Ieri sera illuminava la notte il faro di Alistro, il più potente della costa orientale, con due lampi bianchi ogni 7 secondi lanciati dalla collina del paese, un poco rientrato rispetto alla costa; stasera invece ci tiene compagnia una boa luminosa che con tre lampi ogni 5 secondi segnala una delle tante secche prospicienti le foci dei fiumi... Abbiamo l'Isola d'Elba di fronte, al di là del mare, e l'aeroporto di Bastia alle spalle, al di là dell'ultimo enorme stagno della pianura centrale: mancano appena una ventina di chilometri per completare il periplo dell'isola, che potrebbero costarci lacrime e sangue se dovesse alzarsi vento contrario... Sandy beaches for more than 100 nm  Alistro - Cap du Sud: 18nm - 6h40min Now the coast is quite monotonous: one of the most interesting things of the day is spend the time observerving the rippols on the sandy backdrop, when the water is transparent enough. As for the two last days, we land after 18 miles paddling; as for the last evenings, we choise for the night a beautiful beach protected by a thick pinewood; as always, we win the hungry with an entry  of appetizers, olives and peanuts, prepared on the stern oval hatch of my kayak. We have dinner under the constellation of Pegasus with a little segment of moon. Last night was illuminated by the Alistro lighthouse, the most powerful of the oriental coast, with two white lights every 7 seconds launched from the top of the hill just into the middle of the village; tonight we have the company of a buoy with three lights every 5 seconds to point out the shallows in front of the river outlet... We can see the Elba Island just in front and the airport of Bastia just on the back, onthe other side of the big pond of the central lowland: they are about ten miles to reach Bastia and complete the periplus of the island, hopefully with no contrary wind...
