First day, happy day!

Bastia - Meria: 28km - 4h50m di pagaiata Sbarcati in perfetto ritardo, dopo una notte di bagordi allo "Show Bar" del ponte n.6 con i cugini comaschi, i nostri amici motociclisti sulla nostra stessa rotta, incontriamo il resto della compagnia subito fuori dal porto. Ci imbarchiamo con tutta calma dallo scivolo del porticciolo turistico di Bastia, dopo aver lasciato le auto dei compagni triestini e pescaresi al parcheggio custodito del centro storico. Le ritroveranno lì tra due e tre settimane; Mauro ed io invece non abbiamo portato l'auto sull'isola: una piccola scommessa contro il tempo! Come sempre, i kayak sono carichi fino all'inverosimile! Felici di pagaiare finalmente tutti insieme, sei canoisti giunti in terra corsa dalle più diverse parti d'Italia che lanciamo finalmente le prue dei kayak in direzione nord, lungo la costa orientale di Capo Corso! Ottime le condizioni meteorologiche, leggera brezza di terra ed un sole africano che illumina il mare: una buona (mezza) giornata per iniziare la circumnavigazione della Corsica! Piccolo imprevisto alla partenza... La torre genovese del paesino di Erbalunga Lo sbarco sulla spiaggia ricoperta di posidonia di Meria Bastia - Meria: 15 nm - 4h50m of pagaiata After a sleepless night, spent drinking in the "Show Cafe" of the n.6 bridge with some bikers friends, we finally land from the ferry in a perfect delay of a couple of hours late and immediately meet the rest of the sea kayak group. We launch the kayaks from the tourist harbour of Bastia, after having left the cars into the parking of the historical center of the city. Our friends coming from Trieste and Pescara, due to their few holidays, brought the car on the island; Mauro and me, on the other hand, have just the kayaks with us and we must come back to Bastia in time for the return ferry: a little gamble with the time! As usual, the kayaks are load sooooo much! We are all happy to paddle again all together, six canoeists arrived in Corse from different part of Italy: we finally head north the bows of the kayaks, paddling along the oriental coast of Cape Corse! Meteorological conditions are excellent: light breeze, warm water and an African sun that illuminates the sea. A good (half) day to begin the Corse circumnavigation!
